Centering Equity in Data: Transforming Our Public Health Data Systems
The COVID-19 pandemic laid bare the deficits of our public health and health data infrastructure and illuminated the ways in which structural racism perpetuates health inequities. The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation created a first-of-its-kind National Commission comprised of innovators and experts to reimagine how data are collected, shared, and used, and identify what public and private investments are needed to improve health equity.

About the webinar
• Public health experts will discuss how our inability to dismantle barriers to being healthy, including racism and poverty, will only change if we prioritize equity in data.
• Commission members will share their recommendations and actionable solutions that government at all levels (federal, state, and local); business; philanthropy; community-based organizations and more can take to reimagine and modernize our public health data system.
• RWJF experts will discuss new funding opportunities to accelerate progress toward a modernized public health data infrastructure with an eye toward equity.

Speakers include:
• Alonzo L. Plough, PhD, Vice President, Research-Evaluation-Learning and Chief Science Officer, Robert Wood Johnson Foundation
• Gail C. Christopher, DN, Commission Director and Executive Director, National Collaborative for Health Equity
• Anita Chandra, DrPH, Vice President and Director, RAND Social and Economic Well-Being; Senior Policy Researcher, RAND Corporation
